The
Scuba In Korea website was born in 1999. The idea
was to create a site where foreign divers in Korea could find
information, in English, on scuba diving in South Korea. The diving
in Korea can be quite good, especially around Jeju Island, and
we wanted to 'get the word out'. It is sometimes difficult to
find English-language information while living in, or visiting,
Korea. It is especially difficult for sports that are not yet
that popular with Koreans. Scuba In Korea started
as a dive information directory and has grown to become an informal
dive club as well. We offer ocean dive tours throughout the spring,
summer and fall, and we take advantage of the Busan Aquarium shark
diving program all year round.
Since there is such a turnover of foreign residents/visitors,
the club membership is quite fluid, and very informal. There are
no member roles or dues. Just come diving with us once, and you
are a member. It's as simple as that. There are some members that
have been with us for several years, and we hope that they will
be with us for several more. Members include several divemasters
and instructors, so we welcome beginner divers and even non-divers
as well.
We hope that we are able to steer you in the right direction for
your dive needs in Korea. If we can't help, one of the other foreign
run dive clubs/shops (Aquatic Frontier, Big Blue 33, Deep Blue
Quest, Suwon Scuba) may be able to help you as well.
Take care and dive safe!
